Plant Proteomics and Genetics Scientist Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative research in plant proteomics and genetics to develop new insights and applications.
- Collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and business partners to deliver high-quality reports, presentations, and publications.
- Perform literature reviews, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation for various biology projects.
- Develop and optimize experimental methods and protocols using state-of-the-art instruments and software.
- Validate and verify the accuracy, precision, and robustness of experimental methods and results.
- Prepare and present technical reports, scientific papers, and proposals for internal and external audiences.
- Provide consultation and guidance to clients and stakeholders on plant proteomics and genetics issues and solutions.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in plant proteomics, genetics, and related fields.
- Lead projects to support research and development efforts, including method development and optimization.
- Maintain and troubleshoot experimental instrumentation, ensuring proper functionality and calibration by coordinating with service engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects and delivery of high-quality data by applying statistical tools.
- Provide scientific advice to internal and external decision-makers within the scope of the analysis.
- Promote and maintain quality in all services.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement measures are in place.
- Follow SOPs and best practices as instructed in the relevant laboratory documents and ensure that SOPs and Quality Assurance tests are maintained.
- Comply with and support audit processes, reporting on these when directed to do so.
- Participate in stock control and management of reagents, consumables, standards, etc.
- Complete and maintain all regulatory requirements, such as licensing and certification, where applicable and within established time frames.
- Perform other duties related to the work environment as directed by management.
- Participate in activities aimed at improving the quality of workflows and processes or improving parts of existing protocols.
- Drive compliance of health and safety in your area of work, as required by M42 values and country laws.
- Participate in Health and Safety activities.
- Ensure staff comply with the RASID Health and Safety requirements.
Qualifications
- PhD in Plant Sciences, or a related discipline with a proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- At least three years of experience in industry or academia as a researcher in plant proteomics and genetics.
- Proficient in using experimental techniques and instruments relevant to plant proteomics and genetics.
- Skilled in using analytical software and tools such as ChemStation, Origin, Excel, and R.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
