MEP BIM Designer Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job duties:
• Prepare detailed drawings of Mechanical system designs and plans for buildings and structures according to specifications provided by lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Revise Mechanical drawings and plans as necessary to accommodate changes in design, materials, or construction methods.
• Coordinate and incorporate the work and feedback provided by other Engineers, Surveyors, and other professionals involved in the project.
• Compile Mechanical Engineering data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required to complete Mechanical drawings.
• Use computer-aided drafting equipment and software (AutoCAD, Revit) to produce 2D and 3D drawings, diagrams, sections, elevations, and Building Information Models (BIM).
• Work from sketches or notes to develop Mechanical plans, specifications, and diagrams.
• Adhere to all relevant Mechanical systems codes, regulations, and related mechanical safety standards.
• Liaising with other design team members to ensure proper design coordination.
• Assist in preparing cost estimates for mechanical infrastructures construction materials, labor, and equipment.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in drafting / mechanical drafting design, or Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Professional mechanical drafter certifications, validating qualifications, will be considered added value
• Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience as a mechanical drafter.
• Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD and Revit) and Building Information Modelling (BIM360)
• Excellent understanding of building mechanical infrastructures (HVAC, Pipeline Systems, Fire Fighting systems, elevator systems etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems design regulations, codes, and standards.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of BIM 360 is a must.
• Able to generate mechanical design drawings, diagrams, and mechanical details.
• Strong communication skills and collaborative abilities.
