Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of various metals, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the company policies, goals, objectives and organizational strategy.
• Fabricate and assemble metal products, such as framework or shells / guards for machinery including power press, furnace, ovens, tanks, stacks, and metal parts for any other SPM machinery.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as band saw, power hacksaw, bench grinders and hand grinders, shears, electric arc welding set, Oxy-Acetylene flame cutters, drill presses, locates, marks bending and cutting lines onto work piece.
• Set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as column/bench drill press, end mill, and edge planer or wood working machinery.
• Plan sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage and physical properties of metal.
• Work with fitters or mechanical or electrical technician’s to assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Perform other tasks and duties as allocated by a department Manager or Superior.

Experience and Education: 

• Technical Trade Certificate in Welding Technology.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in the welding and fabrication field.

Key Skills: 

• Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material of the welding of products or parts.
• Knowledge of geometry.
• Gas cutting & Stainless Steel Welding.
